Merle,
Photo sampling of new siding (left) versus old (right). In the spring, when its all done, I’ll take some professional quality photos for your photo album. Everyone who sees it says how beautiful it looks (see closeup above). Also, practically no joints or nails exposed. Bill has done a fine job with the installation. Would you forward this e-mail to Cloud?

Finally, as I mentioned to you my wife gave away my (Christmas gift) truck, is it possible you have a spare? We will most likely be placing an additional order for horizontal boards in the near future.

The enclosed picture is a replica of Norman Rockwell’s studio in Arlington Vermont. The replica is located at Lake McConaughy, Nebraska’s laregst lake. The large north window provides a clear view of the lake and natural lighting for painting. (pictured right. Bear Creek provided the random width STK vertial cedar siding. Thanks, Brad K. Wallace NE

The Stolsons, Delaware

Dear Mr. Bannick, Enclosed is a picture of our new home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. All of the exterior cedar, including over 1000 sq.ft of yellow cedar decking, came from Bear Creek Lumber. We discovered your mill via the Internet in 1997 while living in Alaska. My wife and I knew we were going to build our dream house in Delaware while in Anchorage and started looking for the best of the best in cedar.

We started a dialogue with Merle Kirkley via the net, then visited your mill in July 1998 and spent four hours with Merle. We left the mill and said Merle is the right guy and he will do us right. Almost two years later I can tell you unequivocally that we did so right in deciding to deal with Merle. He was absolutely superb–the best. Honest, fair, devoted to our project and extremely knowledgeable of your entire product line. We even accepted Merle’s advice and had the cedar treated with Cabot’s Bleach.

The cedar arrived right on time and there was zero freight damage. Truly amazing for over 18,000 lbs. Your packing department merits three cheers! Please let them know how much we appreciate doing business with the best cedar mill in the whole USA.

Hi! We finished our building ( pictured right), and are already thinking of building #2. Will hold off for awhile. Enjoy the clapboards and had just enough. As we are doing a few smaller out buildings may need to order more in spring. Thanks for your help on this project. Hope everything is going well for you.
Best wishes, John B.- Japan

1×6 T&G Cedar V-Edge siding; cedar soffit and porch ceiling is 1×4 T&G V-joint; porch and decks are 5/4×4 radius edge. All Bear Creek material. Beautiful porch posts are eastern red cedar hand peeled, cut from customers property. I like the service and availability of hard-to-find stuff here in the east. Also fair prices. I also enjoy the newsletter, it is very balanced. I like the info on building trends, special interest articles on wood and carpentry.
