Let's look at the most common garden structures and their characteristics:
- Pergolas: are shaded walkways with pillars that support cross open beams and a lattice for providing shade.
- Arbors: are not passageways but areas where to sit and enjoy the shade, they are built in the same fashion (posts, cross beams and lattice)
- Trellis: are wooden stuctures that provide support for climbing plants such as grapes, vins and roses.
